How to Play UK Lotto from India

UK Lotto is available to play online from India. To play, you simply choose six numbers from 1 to 59, and you win prizes for matching your numbers with those randomly selected in the draw. Match all six numbers to win the jackpot. Follow the steps below to purchase your UK Lotto entries:

  • Step 1: Go to the Lottery Tickets page and select the UK Lotto ‘Play Now’ button
  • Step 2: Choose how many lines you want to play
  • Step 3: Pick six numbers from 1-59 on each grid
  • Step 4: Choose whether to enter a single draw, multiple draws, or subscribe on an ongoing basis
  • Step 5: Confirm and pay for your entries

Draws take place in the UK at 8:00pm every Wednesday and 7:45pm every Saturday. That means the results will be available in India in the early hours of Thursday and Sunday morning. When you play online, you’ll receive a notification if you win a prize, so it doesn’t matter if you miss the draw itself – your prize money will be paid straight into your online account.

All UK Lotto prizes are fixed amounts, apart from the jackpot, which starts at a minimum of £2 million (approximately Rs. 20 crore) on a Wednesday or £3.8 million (approximately Rs. 38 crore) on a Saturday. The table below displays the prizes on offer and the odds of winning each one:

Must Be Won Draws

Must Be Won draws occur after the UK Lotto jackpot has not been won for five consecutive draws. In the sixth draw – the Must Be Won draw – the entire jackpot is guaranteed to be won, giving Lotto players an even better chance of winning the game’s top prize.

In a Must Be Won draw, the jackpot can still be won by anyone who matches all six numbers. However, if that doesn’t happen, a ‘rolldown’ will occur and the prize money will be split by the winners in all the other prize categories.

The table below shows the percentage of the jackpot that is added to each prize category when a rolldown occurs, along with the approximate amounts that winners can expect to receive.

Prize Tier Percentage of Jackpot Regular Prize Estimated Rolldown Prize
Match 5 + Bonus 3% £1 million (Rs. 10 crore) £1,100,000 (Rs. 11 crore)
Match 5 5% £1,750 (Rs. 1.7 lakh) £9,000 (Rs. 9 lakh)
Match 4 7% £140 (Rs. 14,000) £300 (Rs. 30,100)
Match 3 85% £30 (Rs. 3,000) £100 (Rs. 10,000)
Match 2 Free Lotto Lucky Dip £5 (Rs. 500) + Free Lucky Dip

When a rolldown occurs, all winners in the Match 2 prize category win a guaranteed £5 (Rs. 500) prize in addition to the Free Lucky Dip that they would usually receive. This is the only fixed prize awarded in a rolldown. The money needed to pay out the Match 2 prize is deducted from the rolldown prize fund before the rest of the money is split according to the percentages shown in the table.
