KICFF 2012 - 2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival

2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival (2012) has been inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee in presence of special guest Juhi Chawla at Nandan (Kolkata) on 21st December 2012. Kolkata International Children's Film Festival was started last year and an initiative of Mamata Banerjee. Over the years; we have seen Kolkata Film Festival which doesn't include films of children; thus Mamata Banerjee took the initiative to start Kolkata International Film Festival for Children'.

The 2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival (2012) will be screening around 135 films from India & 18 from foreign countries at various movie theatres across Kolkata on & from 21st December 2012. National Award Winning film of Harsh Nayar i.e., 'I Am Kalam' film is the inaugural film of 2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival (2012). Children  will get to see as many as 11 'Feluda' films during this 2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival (KICFF 2012). A tribute to Upendra Kishore Roy & Sukumar Roy will be shown and a special documentary on Sukumar Roy made by Satyajit Roy will also be shown at 2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival (KICFF 2012).

'Russia' is the theme of 2nd Kolkata International Children's Film Festival (KICFF 2012), organized by Department of Information & Culture Affairs (Govt. of West Bengal) in association with Sishu Kishore Academy.

In the year 1981 Big B Amitabh last visited Netaji Indoor Stadium to shoot a song 'Sara Jamana Haseeno Ka Dewana'; after that this will be his 1st visit to Netaji Indoor Stadium. In earlier editions, legendary film makers like Miguel Littin, Fernando Solanas, E.
