DBT Award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship 2012-2013 in North-Eastern States



Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology Government of India, invites applications for the Award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship for Scientists working in North Eastern States under Special Programme for the North East States 2012-2013.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals working in any of the North Eastern States of India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura) for the Award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship (2012-2013) under the special programme for the North East States for conducting research or training in overseas research laboratories in different areas of biotechnology such as:
(1) Agricultural & Plant Biotechnology, (2) Medical Biotechnology & Human Health, (3) Animal & Veterinary Biotechnology, (4) Marine Biotechnology & Aquaculture, (5)Bioenergy, (6) Food, Feed & Nutrition, (7) Environmental Biotechnology, (8) Industrial Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering, (9) Biotechnology & Biodesign, (10) Stem Cell Research, (11) Basic Research in Modern Biology, (12) Nano-Biotechnology, (13) Bioinformatics & IT-enabled Biotechnology, (14) Intellectual Property & Patent Law, (15) Systems Biology & Synthetic Biology, (16) Biomaterials, and (17) Bioelectronics.

• Eligibility Criteria for Award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship:
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree or Equivalent degree in the areas of life science including Biotechnology or M.D. in Medicine / M.Pharm / M.V.Sc / M.Tech with good research contribution & 3-years research experience. Applicants should hold regular / permanent positions in Government recognized research & academic Institutions/Universities located in any of the North Eastern States working continuously for the last 2-years and should be actively engaged in Biotechnology or related R&D work. 

Application Procedure for Award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship:
Applications from persons working on temporary positions (e.g. Research Fellows or Associates etc) will not be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who are permanent residents of any of the North Eastern States. For more details please visit www.btisnet.gov.in/neof.htm.
Last date of submission of application: 20th July 2012.
Applications should be submitted through proper channel (only one hard copy) as per the format to ‘Dr. T. Madhan Mohan, Advisor, Department of Biotechnology, Block-2, 7th Floor, CGO Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi-3’. A soft copy of the dully filled application compiled on one file (MS Word) is also required to be sent to email: nerbpmc@dbt.nic.in.
